SOUND RECORDING TECHNIQUES FOR FICTION AND DOCUMENTARY

Participants will be initiated to the use of several types of microphones as well as to various types of acoustic environments and how to make them work in their favour. An emphasis will be placed on the tools and trade of the location sound recordist.
Instructor: José Garcia-Lozano
José Garcia-Lozano is a film and video technician and artist, based in Montreal since 2001. José has worked in a variety of departments in film, both fiction and documentary, including: camera, editing, art department, production, projection and sound recording. He has recorded sound on four feature length documentaries, various television shows and has also recorded sound on short independent fiction films.
