Progamme éducatif à Montréal

Following an introduction to the basic principles of animation, participants will apply these notions to create professional animated loops using their own cameras. The resulting animations will be converted to Quicktime files (.mov) or to animated GIFs.

Goal: Participants will learn to create a simple animated film using common digital devices.

Prerequisite: Participants must come equipped with their own digital camera, tablet or smartphone with integrated camera.

Instructor: Damaris Baker

Damaris Baker is a sound designer, composer and animator. She completed her music degree in Australia and worked for ten years as a radio technical producer for the ABC and SBS government radio stations. She composed themes for ABC television, produced radio plays, documentary radio shows, recorded bands and released a CD with David Ashton. Moving into film, she directed a short documentary, Ulas Path, which has screened at five festivals around the world. She has produced sound for a number of short films and documentaries including Outland and The Republic of (A). Her short animation Entropy or the Arrow of Time screened at the Montreal World Film Festival in 2013.
