Emily Paige

Biographie

Born and raised in the outskirts of a rural Ontario village, Emily Paige left in her mid-teens, eager to venture beyond the dirt roads and forests that surrounded her home.


Since then she has lived and worked on three continents, completed a Honours BA in Literature and Art History, and worked as a creative professional in organizations like the Banff New Media Institute at the Banff Centre, the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the Canadian Museums Association and the FOFA Gallery.


Currently, she is Producer at a Webby Award winning animation company and is Director, Faculty of Fine Arts on Concordia University’s Graduate Students’ Association.


Emily has completed two international internships – one focusing on digital media tools and development in Burkina Faso, West Africa; the other exploring collaborative practice, media education, and youth empowerment in Khayamandi, South Africa. 


As a MA candidate in Art Education, her research interests are in digital media, globalization, the creative economy, multi-modal literacy, community development, and pedagogical art practice. 


She likes faeries, fashion and fantasizing about a future political career.

    Avec FOFA Gallery, Concordia Univeristy à Montréal, Quebec, Canada.
    FOFA Gallery is connected to the Faculty of Fine Arts at Concordia University. It is a space where artists can exhibit research/creation.<br><br> I hold two positions at the Gallery. One is as Educational Programmer - working on community outreach, workshops, tours and special programming. <br> The other is as Coordinator for Congress 2010, a 7 day conference that will bring over 9000<br> academics, theorists, writers, creators, etc. to Concordia University from May 28th to June 5th, 2010. The theme of the conference is "Connected Understanding". <br> During Congress the FOFA Gallery will present 17 projects that are interdisciplinary in nature and wide ranging. There will be a live performance of dance/electroacoustic/video work, a film screening, discussions, gaming explorations, tableaux vivants featuring electronic textiles, interactive media installations and immersive spaces.
